Cognitive Impairment

With an aging population, there is an urgent need to support family caregivers managing the care and activities of with a loved one with a cognitive impairment at home.  The memory and behavioural changes experienced often have significant health consequences for those involved. VHA recognizes that supporting family caregiver(s) is integral to our clients’ quality of life. We are committed to partnering with our clients, families and research partners to better understand the value of lifestyle modification including: intellectual activities, physical activities and social connectedness to improve client and family caregiver quality of life.

VHA is an active partner in AGE-WELL – a national research and innovation network of industry, non-profit organizations, government, care providers, caregivers, end-users, and academic partners working together to drive innovation and create technologies and services that benefit older adults.
