Project: Health Tech Junior
Research Area: Children with Complex Medical Needs
Brief Abstract:
To best address the educational needs of nurse working in homecare, and to improve care delivery for children with tracheostomy tubes in the community, we have designed and implemented a competency-based education program, Health Tech Junior, at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Toronto, Canada using established methodology. The goal is to determine whether the tracheostomy module is associated with improved knowledge and skills for homecare nurses.
