Join the board of VHA Home HealthCare
VHA Home HealthCare, one of Ontario’s leading not for profit home care providers, is recruiting volunteers to serve as Directors on our Board and community members as part of Board Standing Committees, who are passionate about home and community care and embrace our vision, mission and core beliefs.
Our skill-based Board is a reflection of our diverse community and we encourage applicants from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives and experiences.
At this time we are particularly interested in candidates with:
significant governance expertise
strong business acumen
a senior leadership role in private enterprise
a creative and entrepreneurial mind-set
a drive to make a difference and a willingness to leverage their networks and resources in support of our efforts to positively impact those we serve, as well as the policy environment in which we do our work
The culture of the VHA Board is very positive – striving for excellence and innovation through openness, mutual respect, humour, healthy debate and strategic thinking. We pride ourselves in our ability to work effectively with fellow directors, management and external stakeholders, and with our commitment to making a better home and community health care system. You should be driven by the same goals and priorities.
Help us make a difference. At VHA Home HealthCare we lend a helping hand to a wide spectrum of people across the province – children, seniors, families, new parents, those with physical and mental disabilities and terminally ill individuals. Since 1925, VHA has provided high quality, multilingual services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are comprised of more than 2,000 professionals, including nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech language pathologists, dieticians, social workers, personal support workers, and homemakers.
We are bright, passionate people with diverse backgrounds coming together to create a unique culture and fulfill our mission – creating possibilities for more independence. We are accredited with exemplary status by Accreditation Canada and a proud member of the United Way Toronto and York Region. You can check us out at our website.
If you are interested in helping to shape the future of our organization, please contact Patricia Triantafilou, VHA’s Executive Assistant at ptriantafilou@vha.ca who will send you an application package.
The deadline for receipt of applications is March 12, 2017.
