VHA Home HealthCare (VHA) Wins Not-for-Profit Communications Department of the Year

TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwired – May 19, 2016) – VHA Home HealthCare has been awarded the 2016 Ovation Award of Distinction for Not-for-Profit Communications Department of the Year by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) – Toronto. The prestigious Ovation Awards celebrate excellence in communications and recognize extraordinary talent and the power to capture people’s attention, imagination and hearts. The Award of Distinction is given in one of six categories to entrants with the highest combination of “Award of Excellence” and “Award of Merit” scores from the judges.

VHA also received an Award of Merit with collaborators Flashframe Digital Media in the Audio/Visual category for a video series profiling the winners of VHA’s 2015 Heart of Home Care Award.

Pamela Stoikopoulos, senior communications and public relations manager for VHA, leads the winning team, which includes Christina Zimmermann, communications specialist, and Damminda Amarasingha, web and intranet administrator. The team also regularly supports communications and public relations interns.

The Ovation Award winners were announced at a gala event on May 18 at the Sheraton Centre Hotel.
