Karen Waite
Karen Waite is a senior leader at the Ontario Telemedicine Network, a publicly funded organization serving Ontario-based health care providers and their patients and clients, enabling the use of technology and new models of care to provide and improve access to care wherever its needed. As Executive Lead New Business Development, Karen works both within Ontario and with jurisdictions outside of Ontario to help apply OTN’s experience and expertise to their contexts. A nurse with both health informatics and privacy expertise, Karen has led a number of virtual care related initiatives enabling new models of care including those at jurisdictional and regional levels and within and between acute, primary care and long-term care sectors as well as in first nation communities. Karen is a passionate advocate for excellence in health care service delivery. She is a past president of the Ontario Nursing Informatics Group and a past executive member of the Canadian Society for Telehealth’s Board of Directors. Karen joined the VHA Board in 2017.
