VHA Home HealthCare, one of the province’s leading not for profit home care providers, is seeking qualified individuals with previous board experience and an appreciation of not-for-profit governance. We are seeking individuals with diverse life experiences and an interest in giving back to their communities.

We will benefit from your leadership in one or more of the following areas

  • Governance (policy and practice)
  • Strong Business Acumen
  • Government Relations (ideally with government experience in health care policy/planning)
  • Health Care (especially in field of health economics and funding)
  • Related Health Leadership (primary care or hospital experience)
  • Accounting and Financial Planning (CA/CPA)
  • Human Resources/Labour Relations

The culture of the VHA Board is very positive – striving for excellence and innovation through openness, mutual respect, humour, healthy debate and strategic thinking. We pride ourselves in our ability to work effectively with fellow directors, management and external stakeholders, and with our commitment to making a better home and community health care system. You should be driven by the same goals and priorities.

Help us make a difference. At VHA Home HealthCare we lend a helping hand to a wide spectrum of people across the province – children, seniors, families, new parents, those with physical and mental disabilities and terminally ill individuals. Since 1925, VHA has provided high quality, multilingual services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are comprised of more than 2,000 professionals, including nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech language pathologists, dieticians, social workers, personal support workers, and homemakers. We are bright, passionate people with diverse backgrounds coming together to create a unique culture and fulfill our mission – creating possibilities for more independence. You can check us out at www.vha.ca.

All VHA Board members serve as individuals committed to the purposes and mission of the organization and to the critical role it plays in home health care across the province. Although Board members do not represent any particular community or constituency, the composition of the Board reflects as much as possible the diverse communities we serve.
